As a Physical Education professional (Sports Science graduate) and professional lifeguard, Fotini Bitrou has been organizing intensive swimming lessons in Aegina every summer for 30 years, with a special emphasis on children’s education.
The program is specially designed and primarily targets:
-
Children: Classes for children aged 6 months to 12 years, aiming not only to teach swimming strokes but also to foster water familiarity and safety principles.
-
Lifeguarding Basics: At advanced levels, basic lifeguarding principles are taught, enhancing children’s safety and responsibility at sea.
-
Location: Lessons are held at safe beaches on the island (historically including Marathonas A’ and Avra), taking full advantage of the summer climate.
At the end of the course, a demonstration race is often organized where children showcase their progress and receive participation trophies.
Over the years, she has trained more than 2,000 children. Gift with Registration: A free kickboard.
